Corporate Headshots
63Contemporary styles of corporate headshots
With the rise in social media websites and digital media the requirement for businesses to use good corporate headshots has never been as popular. Along with the new demand we have seen a new styles of corporate headshots being used within different media. As a corporate headshot photographer working in London I have been developing different techniques in order to supply corporate clients with contemporary corporate headshots. The most common style of corporate headshot would be the formal portrait on a white or coloured background. These have been around since the early days of corporate photography and are normally associated with studio set ups and with a fairly standard approach to getting a basic corporate headshot. These are still demand and still used often by very large corporate companies that employ thousands of staff so that changing the corporate style would be very expensive.
Newer styles are being adopted by companies keen to promote their corporate profile as more approachable and these are often portraits that are shot using natural light and involve elements of the office interior and show the subject in a working environment.
Contemporary corporate headshots which are commissioned by individuals or forward thinking companies use more informal and reportage styles of photography to capture portraits of business people 'in action'. This type of image is becoming more popular and I am seeing increased commissions in The City for this type of natural corporate headshots.
